We are reading at Level 6, 7 or 8 (Yellow level books). You can choose one activity each day.
Listen to the story about Mr Tiger.
When you have finished listening to the story, retell it to an adult in your bubble. Remember when you retell the story to remember the things that happened in the beginning, the middle and the end. Once you have retold it to someone, draw a picture of your favourite part and write a sentence about why that part is your favourite. |
Read the story My Granny Rides a Bicycle to someone in your bubble.
When you have read it, retell the story to another person in your family. Draw a picture of your favourite part of the story. Write a sentence with each one of the key words. Complete the activities at the end of the book. |
A compound word is a word made up from two little real words that when you put them together makes a compound word,for example:
butter - fly makes the word butterfly horse - shoe makes the word horseshoe black - board makes the word blockboard Watch the Youtube video below and look around the house and see if you can find some paper to make your own compound word book. |
Above is a story that is also a play. A play is something that can be performed in front of an audience and in this case it could be your family.
Decide which character you want to be, either the Cat, the Dog, the Birds or the Snail. Get the other people in your family to choose which role they want to be. There is also a narrator. This person is the one who reads the story but doesn't usually have a part in the play. Have fun performing the play. You may even be able to make masks of the animals in the play and if none of this sounds like something you may want to do then just enjoy reading the book. |
